Dexter Municipal Golf Club — Owned by the Town of Dexter, and privately managed, the course is relatively short but challenging as indicated by it’s slope rating of 120. The course was designed by Bill Nadeau and opened in 1968. It was redesigned in 2010 by Jimmy Costedio, the course manager and superintendent. Lucerne Golf Club — The Lucerne Golf Club is a classic Donald Ross course conveniently located between Bangor and Ellsworth. Squaw Mountain Resort — The 9-hole course at the Squaw Mountain Village Golf Course facility in Greenville Junction features all the hallmarks of Maine golf and opened in 1922. 2,563 yards, par 34. Rt# 15, Greenville Junction. (207) 695-3591.


Piscataquis Country Club — The 9-hole course spreads out over 2,909 yards with Par 36. Hidden Meadows Golf Course — A 9 hole golf course with onsite custom club fitting, plus a 300 yard outdoor driving range, located ten minutes north of Bangor. Built in 1997, designed by Jeff DuFour.  240 W. Old Town Rd., Old Town. (207) 827-4779.


Hampden Country Club, — One of the least-pretentious “country clubs” in the state, this short, open layout was built in 1967 by Hamm Robbins, a former dairy farmer. Kenduskeag Valley Golf Course — The 9-hole course is located on the bank of the beautiful Kenduskeag Stream and surrounded by trees on three sides. Mount Kineo Golf Club — Located on Moosehead Lake and thought to be the second oldest course in New England, built in the 1890’s along side of the Kineo House, which at one time was the largest inland waterfront hotel in America. The hotel is long gone, but the beauty of the island remains with Mount Kineo rising 798 feet above Moosehead Lake.
